Originally from New Jersey, I grew up in New York City and graduated from Rutgers University with a dual B.A. in English and Journalism. Upon moving to Los Angeles I studied graphic design at UCLA, and opened up an entertainment advertising agency. But something was missing and I felt a deeper calling. Then, after tragically losing my 3rd child at birth, the painful wake-up call was clear and I knew I needed to follow a new path in the medical field in my son Odin's memory.
I graduated from Dongguk University – Los Angeles, with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine, where I studied Chinese, Korean and Japanese Medicine. While at Dongguk I had the pleasure of interning at The USC Engemann Health Center. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at Five Branches University (focusing on Integrative Medicine in Western Healthcare settings), certified in Chinese Medical Pediatric Diagnosis, certified from the NICABM in Strategies for working with Anxiety, a Licensed Acupuncturist & Primary Care Provider by the State of California, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the American Society of Acupuncturists, The California Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine Association, an elected Board Member of the Los Feliz Business Improvement District, and am also proudly elected as a District E Representative to the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council.
I love California and currently reside, work, and am active in the beautiful community of Los Feliz with my husband of 26 years and our two grown children. Residing in California has opened my eyes to a healthier lifestyle and broader view of the future of healthcare.
There is very little Traditional Chinese Medicine has not had success in treating. I have worked with infants, children, women, men, the elderly, cats, dogs and even horses! Brian is a Certified Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Healer and Cranio Sacral Practitioner. Brian works with Mend in our dual session Acu-Cranio Recovery Program. He has studied numerous styles of manual therapy and healing arts at National Holistic Institute, Upledger Institiute, California State University Northridge, Barral Institute, and the Zero Balancing Health Association. Over the years his practices of massage, shiatsu, craniosacral therapy, energy healing, and martial arts began to coaslesce into a unique style, dubbed Shiatsu Alchemy. Brian is a firm believer in the body's ability to heal itself, and Shiatsu Alchemy has evolved as a powerful aid to that natural healing process.
