Is Acupuncture "Real" Medicine?
Yes. Acupuncture is no longer considered "Alternative Medicine". In the state of California, Licensed Acupuncturists are considered Primary Care Providors and work alongside MDs, are employed in hospitals, and treatments are covered by most health insurance plans. Acupuncture is Evidence Based Medicine and is safely used by millions of Americans every year. Licensed Acupuncturists undergo many years of extensive education, including in-depth Western Medical training. I have passed comprehensive board examinations for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and am licensed by the state of California. As required by law, I use pre-sterilized, disposable, single-use needles to ensure your complete safety.
* Only receive Acupuncture by a Licensed Acupuncturist! Physical Therapists and MDs receive "certificates" in a weekend course and call their treatments Acupuncture or "Dry Needling". A weekend course or certification cannot properly train ANYONE to deliver the care and knowledge of a properly Licensed Acupuncturist. And "Dry Needling" basically means you are getting acupuncture from an untrained practitioner.
